Farm Animal Reform Movement (FARM) is a non-profit animal rights organization that supports humane farming and a change to a plant-based diet (veganism or vegetarianism) as an obvious and effective way of alleviating the unnecessary suffering and killing of today's farm animals. They have been working tirelessly to improve the lives of animals since their establishment in 1981, but as a non-profit organization with no professional fund raisers, they rely entirely on contributions to continue doing their good work. Though FARM is a small organization run by only a few individuals, they have established a large network of over one thousand activists in the US and Canada.
FARM supports a vegetarian lifestyle through eight grassroots programs which seek to educate the public about the many reasons for avoiding animal-produced foods. These programs include The Great American Meatout, World Farm Animals Day, CHOICE, Letters from FARM, Sabina Fund, Industry Watch, and Feeding the World. FARM also helps to organize animal rights conferences and participates in several other movement-wide events.
